Holiday Parties by Melinda Curtis

I have never been much for holiday parties. Usually these are either parties for my work or my husband's. And usually the topic of conversation is work, not the holiday. You've got to figure out what to wear (dressy, casual, tacky holiday sweater), a gift to bring the host/hostess (I once brought wine for someone who didn't drink), and a gift if there is a gift exchange (last year I was told at 3:30pm to find a joke gift by 5:30pm).

I've decided I much prefer cyber parties! They are come as you are and usually last 24 hours before they close, so you can drop in and out. There are fun games, prizes, and free reads. Whether you love Facebook author parties or you've never attended one, I'd like to extend some party invitations to you:

You May Now Kiss the Bridesmaid Release Party

This party celebrates the release of my 4th Bridesmaid book. And it is live today from 4-5pm Pacific (7-8pm Eastern). Games and prize packs open until 4pm Pacific on Tuesday.

Note: This digital only novella is 99c now, but will be $2.99 on December 13.

Sweet Romance Reads Christmas Bash

If you enjoy reading sweet/clean romance, you'll enjoy this party. 18 sweet romance authors (including me) means there will be lots of fun & games! Click on the link and ask to join the Sweet Romance Reads Cafe to attend (it will be held on that site).

This party starts Friday, December 9 at 2pm Eastern (11pm Pacific) and you can play games for prizes through Saturday at 8pm Eastern (5pm Pacific).

All I Want For Christmas (hosted by A Taste of Romance Book Club)
This party is on Monday, December 12, 4-7pm Pacific (7-10pm Eastern). All proceeds from this box set go to fund research to find a cure for diabetes. We've raised $65,000 so far! If you haven't bought your copy, it's a steal at $7.99 (give a little, get a lot!).

Check out this line-up: Brenda Novak, Carla Neggers, Samantha Chase, Shannon Stacey, Anna J. Stewart, Jennifer Bernard, Ruth Cardello, Melody Anne, and Melinda Curtis. With prizes also offered from Marie Force, Jill Shalvis, Melanie Shawn, Laurelin Page, and Kayti McGee!

So if you like to party, I hope to see you online in the next week! Please feel free to share these party links with your friends. The more, the merrier! Happy Holidays!

  1. Those sound like great parties, Melinda! And so much easier than deciding what to wear and what to bring. I hope you have a great turnout and lots of fun!

  3. Either way, Mel, holiday parties are work. And you have been one of the busiest people I know. I know your cyber-parties will be really well attended. What did you end up with as a joke gift?

    1. Roz, I put together a box of erotica swag I had received at 2 different conferences (wasn't sure what to do with it in the first place). It was a hit, but I probably would have done just as well if I'd wrapped a package of toilet paper.

  8. Mel, I'm not much for holiday parties either. Exactly like you mentioned, it seems like I'm never quite prepared and always running late. I do love your idea for the white elephant gift you mentioned above. Looking forward to attending a couple of your online parties, though. I know they'll be great!
