WARM UP TO APRIL BY Catherine Lanigan

WARM UP TO APRIL WITH HEARTWARMING AUTHORS CATHERINE LANIGAN, MELINDA CURTIS, PAMELA TRACY AND HELEN DEPRIMA.
By Catherine Lanigan

"In spring, a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of love.”

I don’t think I’ve ever skipped into April without that quote in my head. In my world, April is the beginning a lots of spring chores, cleanup, the joy of watching the garden flowers grow at an astonishing rate almost daily.  It's  a very romantic time of year. New beginnings, the bird songs that fill the early mornings, the earth coming alive with color again and the trees leafing out. Everything is fresh and young.  It's all about hope, I believe.  Spring's magic is enough to make the most protected, untrusting heart, warm to the idea that a person should take that leap for love. For my hero, Detective Trent Davis, in PROTECTING THE SINGLE MOM, the risk he has to take for love is terrifying. For Cate Sullivan, the woman who has been living in Indian Lake in disguise with a fake identity, love is out of the question. She's been there and it was brutal.

So, this April is my book birthday for PROTECTING THE SINGLE MOM. Here's my fabulous cover which looks exactly like my hometown, La Porte, Indiana, the inspiration for Indian Lake in my SHORES OF INDIAN LAKE series. Granted, it's not April in the story. It's October. That Maple Tree on the cover is so real, I can almost smell the autumn scent.

Getting involved shouldn't be this dangerous…
Cate Sullivan is no damsel in distress. She's kept herself and her son safe for six long years. Built a good life in Indian Lake. But now that her drug-dealing ex-husband is moving his operation here, that life is about to explode.
Her instincts tell her to trust Detective Trent Davis. That he's more than just a handsome cop doing his duty. The former Green Beret has even formed a fast bond with her son. But there's something he's not telling her. Some darkness that keeps him from giving in to the feelings she knows are growing between them. Cate trusts Trent to keep her safe, but the real question is whether he'll trust himself with her heart.
For those of you who visited this blog on Thursday, March 24th, you have a good idea of my inspiration for the book. This spring blog is about the happiness that falling in love can bring. I’m sharing my book birthday with Melinda Curtis, Pamela Tracy and Helen DePrima. All our books are now live at www.Amazon.com, www.BN.com, www.Kobo.com; and www.harlequin.com. You can also pick up our boxed set of April loves as well.
My PRISM BOOK TOUR is taking place right now, with giveways, posts, prizes. www.prismbooktours.blogspot.com . It lasts until April 7th.
Here's my new TOTE on the Giveaway for the Prism Book Tour.
Falling in Love Heartwarming style is always a mess and beset with a truckload of obstacles before the hero and heroine get their “happy ever after.”  Amazingly, this is what makes Heartwarming so true to life. Few of us can admit to a lifetime of ease. I can’t think of a week in my life that hasn’t had a least a “blip” of a crisis. Part of it comes from having a large family and a greater part from having lots and lots of loving friends.
Those loving friends are what I love about Melinda Curtis’ Harmony Valley books.  I love her books and this one certainly looks like it will not disappoint my “Spring Fever” reading needs.
What we do for family…and love
Third-generation firefighter Captain Ben Libby is sworn to keep Harmony Valley safe. But a recent series of fires points to arson. Not that Ben really suspects Mandy Zapien, who's back in town to reopen the defunct post office—a potential fire hazard.
Turns out Ben and Mandy—she of the incredible smile—have a lot in common. They're both trying to rebuild their lives. Mandy's raising her teenage sister, just as Ben's devoted to his godchild. Though lately, he's started to suspect she's his biological daughter. Amid secrets and family dramas, do Ben and Mandy have what it takes to go the distance together?
And check out HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO by Pamela Tracy. My heart is fluttering over this cover, I have to say. Those book deliveries can’t get here fast enough!

This is more than just a case…

Every instinct Oscar Guzman honed in the military and the police academy is telling him that Shelley Brubaker is hiding something. It's not just a secret; he's sure of that. It's something darker, more dangerous. And the only way to protect her is to convince her to open up to him. But Shelley isn't about to let him get that close. Oscar knows that with her con-man ex still at large and probably threatening her, Shelley is suspicious of everyone. But he also knows that at eight months pregnant with a toddler to raise, she's in no shape to fight this battle alone. And he's not about to let her!

When I read the copy for Helen DePrima’s April release, LUKE’S RIDE, I couldn’t imagine how in the world Katie and Luke could possibly get together. Talk about impossible relationships!

The time has come for him to cowboy up…

He's spent fifteen years at the rodeo, protecting riders when they hit the dirt. But what exactly is a bullfighter after a bull takes him down in the arena and lands him in a wheelchair? That's what Luke Cameron's still struggling to figure out. And if Katie Garrison, in the middle of a controversial divorce, can help him find a new kind of life…well…he's not one to turn her down! But she's still a married woman and her husband isn't going to let her go without a fight. Besides, Luke may never walk again. What kind of life can he give a woman like Katie?
So, to keep your spring all warmed up and to help you feel “that lovin’ feeling’ the April authors have gotten together to bring you an APRIL GIVEAWAY.  The basket is lovely and can be used for any kind of display in the home. My new tote is included, hand made turtles from a confectionery here in my home town, London Chocolates (chocolate keeps the spirits spring-like, yes?) Three autographed copies of my Shores of Indian Lake books, One “craft” book on writing that I published. Tea, coffee and 25,000 Harlequin MY REWARDS points.  Each of the authors are sending two autographed copies of their former Heartwarming titles as well. That’s another half dozen books to keep you “falling in love with Heartwarming” all spring long.  The value is $150.00

See the details below on how to sign up for the giveaway which we will run until April 30th.

    1. Janice, thank you so much. That tree was planted by my mother as a sapling in 1951. My father mowed it over for five years thinking it was a weed/twig thing. I think that "haircut" gave it great roots!
