This month is all about new beginnings! And Harlequin Heartwarming has four brand-new romances celebrating
fresh starts and second chances.
In Bad Boy Rancher
by Karen Rock, Brielle tries to help a renegade rancher leave the past behind. And
the heroine of The Redemption of Lillie
Rourke by Loree Lough is yearning for a second chance with CEO Jase Yeager.
Amy Vastine strikes a different chord in Love Songs and
Lullabies with the story of two country music stars who start to wonder if
their fake engagement might be the real deal. And in Bachelor Remedy by Carol Ross, Alaskan medevac pilot Tag James
faces a tough decision between his dream of a political career or Ally Mowak,
the woman he’s falling for…
And behind the scenes at Romance HQ, editors have been getting
ready for a big change. On March 19, Harlequin—along with HarperCollins Canada—moved
into a brand-new office in downtown Toronto.
The views are gorgeous!
The office is clean and bright.
With more than enough bookshelves!
Wait, what's that in the corner? |
AHA! Heartwarming books spotted on the new bookshelves!
We’ve already started exploring the neighborhood. Just
across the street is Ben McNally Books, which might be Toronto's most beautiful
bookstore.
We also discovered the Cloud Gardens, a lovely little
conservatory.
Do you have a favorite spot that’s just around the corner from
your office or workspace? A coffee shop that sells the best pastries? For
anyone who works from home—a pet who makes sure you hit your word goals? Tell me about your local favorites in the comments!
Thanks for the pics of your new digs, Dana! A bookstore and a conservatory...how do you get any work done? I have three cats who believe I stare at a glowing, humming rectangle until I make myself useful as their masseuse, footman, waiter and cushion.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Moira! I love the image of a trifecta of cats! :)
DeleteI love seeing this! SO much fun to explore :) I worked on the 48th floor at my last office, and my favorite coffee shop was just across the street.
ReplyDeleteSounds nice! Is the wind as loud on the 48th floor as it is on 41?
DeleteHi, Dana! My favorite coffee shop isn't right around the corner, but I go for their divine pastries, housemade chocolates that are works of art, outdoor patio with fountain--and even their name, Rembrandt's. Wow, the new offices are splendid, and you're right in the heart of the city.
ReplyDeleteHi, Leigh!! That coffee shop sounds amazing!
DeleteWhat a view! And the office looks spectacular. It's been years since I worked in a city where I could explore as soon as I walked out the front doors. No local hangouts for me, unless you count the coffee maker on my counter. Hmm...I need to get out more. Thanks, Dana.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tara! Right now, the view is pretty much a wall of white because of this spring snowstorm. :)
DeleteLooking forward to seeing those impressive offices...where I work, there's a nice little tea shop downstairs in the kitchen (though the staff can be surly), a bookshelf in the room down the hall (mostly well used titles), and when the weather's good a deck with a yard. And always, our gold Cocker who believes that every time I move away from my desk it's because I want to let him out/feed him/play with toys/rub his belly.
ReplyDeleteAww! Cocker Spaniels are adorable! Those ears!!!
DeleteNothing in my neighborhood that compares even a tad bit. I'm almost finished reading the set of books. All of the stories are different and compelling. Yay, Heartwarmers.
ReplyDeleteWe've got some really strong titles this month! :)
DeleteYour new place looks amazing Dana! And I must check out the Cloud Conservatory, which would be a nice hit of spring(coming for sure soon, I hope) We have a favourite coffee place down the street here, called Cherry Bomb. They make great pastries too so I try to avoid it except....well...once a week now! Congrats to these new releases, authors!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Janice!
DeleteThe new offices are gorgeous. Nothing like a fantastic view to energize you! I also like the bull pen arrangement, though some people don't. But I spent many, many years working in offices with that and enjoyed the atmosphere of teamwork it promoted. Hope to see you in Denver, Dana, and say hi :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy. I'm so excited for Denver! I'd love to say hello!
DeleteAll I can say is Oh, WOW! What a view and so clean and bright. But the Ben McNally Bookstore would call to me ALL the live long day! Thanks for the photos! Love this. I've ordered my books--can't wait to read my favorite authors. What a line up. Congrats to all the April authors.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Catherine. Even though I read mostly ebooks, I can't resist a well-curated store like Ben McNally.
DeleteWhat a wonderful view of a wonderful city. The offices are stunning! The April lineup once again so appealing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Virginia. I agree!
DeleteLOVE the new space, Dana! Glad the move went smoothly for all. And I WISH there was someplace cool just outside my front door. That said, probably a good thing there's not. Yay for new Heartwarmings! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anna! For all the stress of packing, etc, the move did go really well. Everyone organizing did a fantastic job!
DeleteThe office and its surroundings look beautiful, although I'll bet you're all glad the move is over. All of the in-city things (bookstore, coffee shop, etc.) sound so exciting and are so beautiful, but I know I'd miss the cornfields.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz!!
DeleteI love the bright and shiny new offices, and that view is amazing. My go-to is a teapot on my kitchen counter. I do have a conservatory, AKA sunroom, but it's currently full of building materials to be installed in said kitchen. And I could stock a bookstore with all the paperbacks overflowing the bookshelves in the hall. If only they were beautiful, like the ones in your photo.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely. Fingers crossed you can reclaim your sun room soon!
DeleteLove the views of your new office! I can't wait to read this month's Heartwarming books. My town is too small for a bookstore. Or a coffee shop (Starbucks inside of Safeway doesn't count...the lines are too long and you can't sit at all.) I envy you having a conservatory so close to your work! How nice!
ReplyDeleteToo small for a bookstore? That sounds difficult! Thank goodness for ebooks!!
DeleteOh, I don't know where I want to visit first: the bookstore or your new digs! Tell us a little more. What floor are you on? Is your office center, by a window, etc? Inquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDeleteThe editorial department is on the 41st floor and because there are windows all around, pretty much every desk is close to the window. There's lots of light! (Except on the snowy days, when we're looking out into a sea of white.)
DeleteI love that bookstore. Wow, what a place to get lost.
ReplyDeleteI agree!! I can't wait to go back! :)
DeleteHi Dana. Visiting my daughter in Lexington, KY, this week. Visited Joseph-Beth Booksellers last night at Lexington Green. Largest bookstore in KY! C.J Box and Lisa Scottoline did book signings there this week. Beautiful store.
ReplyDeleteI looked up some photos of Joseph-Beth Booksellers online, and WOW! What a gorgeous store!
DeleteBeautiful pictures and beautiful books!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I love the title of Amy Vastine's book.
Jeannie Watt's last Super was fantastic and I'm so glad she'll be writing for Heartwarming.
Thanks, Marcie! I'm a big fan of Jeannie, too, and I'm so glad she's joined Heartwarming.
