One More Spring Post

Hi there! Patricia Bradley here with a few thoughts on Spring and hoping you had a blessed Easter.

Autumn used to be my favorite season. I loved all the oranges and reds and yellows of the leaves, the golden glow to the atmosphere, but as time has passed, autumn has been replaced in my heart by Spring. (Yes, I capitalized it because it's so special!)

Just as fall has all those lovely colors, so does spring. Not only do we have every shade of green imaginable, but the beautiful colors of blooming flowers.

But above all Spring is about renewal and love. So, I'll leave you with this:

What's your favorite season?

  1. Spring is my favourite as it’s always so reinvigorating after the long, grey days of winter. Enthusiasms I’d almost forgotten....gardening, losing weight (😜) cooking new spring recipes...arise and best of all, summer lies ahead. Thanks for the shot of spring on yet another dull day here, Patricia!

    1. We have finally gotten warm days without rain, Janice. Yesterday was beautiful and in the low 80s...it was all I could do to keep from working in the yard.

  2. I love spring too. Our trees are all the beautiful colors. I hate it that they only last a couple of weeks before they fall down. This year, a neighbor pruned one of his trees and put the branches on the curb for the township to pick up. I clipped a few of them to see if I can grow it. Me who has no thumb, green, black or any color. Anyway, I got advice, went to the garden center and I'll let you know if I have pink blossoms next spring.

    1. Shirley, there are so many plants that you can stick in the ground and they'll take root. I have right now several camellias, a couple of rose cuttings, and an althea bush that I just stuck in the ground. Like you, I'll see if it works next year...although all of my althea bushes were rooted that way. :-)

  3. Love those pictures! Fall was always my favorite until we moved to Alaska. Now it's summer, although we're in Arizona at the moment and the iris I planted last year are blooming. It's hard to beat an Arizona spring. I can never stick with a favorite season or a favorite color because they all have their charms.

    1. That's so true, Beth! Well, except maybe for winter...we rarely get a pretty snow...

  4. Great photos--spring will eventually come to NE Wisconsin...we had warm weather, so all of a sudden the flowers and leaves will appear. Sometimes it seems to happen overnight. My next Heartwarming is going to take the characters through spring to summer. Seems I mostly start in summer and take them to fall, or start in fall and take them to winter. This will be new for me.

  5. I guess I still think fall is my favorite. Probably goes back to when I grew up in Oregon. In the fall we had changing colors of trees, and fruit in all forms to start making jam, jelly and canning for the winter. And I really like 4 distinct seasons. Seems of late they are blending together a lot more than they used to.

    1. I agree that they seem to be blending together, Roz! I used to make jams and jellies in the fall, but now there's no one around to eat it.

  6. I'm with you, Patricia! Autumn used to be the best ever for me, but not anymore. I also used to live in the South or California/Arizona for over 30 years and so the WINTER, yes, I capitalized that because its SUCH a grey/pewter world here in Indiana, and I love all the hues and tones of green. LOVE them. Great photos.

    1. A few years ago I noticed that there were so many different shades of green in the spring, Catherine. It blew me away! I'd never noticed that before. And it looks so good after a rainy, cold, blustery winter.

  7. Today in Ohio is the perfect spring day. It's 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky (and for NE Ohio that is a rarity!) Hurrying to get my work done so I can take a long stroll this afternoon and enjoy every second of it.
