Twenty days and counting to Christmas! That does involve rounding up hours, minutes and seconds...all of which are critical to last minute shoppers...but you're all going to be ready early this year because the Heartwarming Countdown is getting you in the holiday spirit. Right? :) It's working on me!
So you're probably thinking: 'Then why'd she put up her book cover? There's nothing Christmassy about it. Come on, Rula. It's not even called The Promise of Snow!'
Ahhh, but wait. Let's not forget that the holidays aren't about snow or decorations (though I'll admit I LOVE both and will forever associate them with Christmas), nor are they celebrated the same way around the world. Not every state in the U.S., let alone every country in the world, gets snow or cold weather on Christmas. And not every country has farms of evergreen trees ready for lights and gifts tucked underneath. From the west, to Europe to Africa and every other corner of the earth, though traditions may differ, family, faith, peace on earth and giving are still at the heart of the holidays and Christmas.
And although The Promise of Rain will be one of the January Heartwarming books that will ring in the New Year (hopefully with a 'promise' of a bountiful and healthy 2014 for all), and it's not a Christmas story, per se, it is about mothers, babies, family and the sacrifices we make in the best interest of loved ones.
So to get a jump start on holiday giving, I'm doing a worldwide giveaway on Goodreads and it ends on Christmas Eve. I'll be giving away five autographed ARCs of The Promise of Rain. For more details and exact times or to enter the giveaway, click HERE.
