Finding True Love, By Linda Hope Lee

That's what romance stories are all about, aren't they? Finding true love? But the path to true love doesn't always follow the same route. Some say they fell in love at first sight. Some say common interests paved the way.
Others say true love began with a crush.
That's how it was for Luci Monroe.
I first met Luci in Eva's Deadline (Heartwarming #42) when she was a senior in high school and interning at the Willow Beach Beacon. Cody Jarvis, in his mid-twenties, was the newspaper's photographer. Luci had known Cody as her older brother's buddy but hadn't paid much attention to him. Then, suddenly, wham! Where have you been all my life?
Cody wasn't interested. Luci was his friend's little sis and, besides, he thought there was too much age difference between them.
Four years later, in Her Summer Crush, Luci and Cody find themselves working together again. She thought she was over him, but to her dismay, all the old feelings come rushing back. Does she still have a crush on him? Or do her feelings indicate something more?
Of course, other obstacles stand in the way as well. But I just stepped back and let Luci and Cody figure it out for themselves.
Her Summer Crush, a March 1 release, is now available for pre-order in both Kindle and paperback editions. amazon.com

Do you have a path to true love story to share?

  2. Thank you, Kate. I like the cover, too. When I wrote Eva's Deadline, I had no idea Luci would have her own story but when I decided to make it a series, there she was, waving and shouting, "Get me and Cody together!" And so I did. Their story was fun to write, and I hope readers enjoy it.

    1. Hi, Beth. Gray morning, hmmm, maybe you're in the Pacific Northwest, like I am. We've had a lot of gray lately, along with the wet stuff, but this morning has no rain, so far, and sunshine peeking through the clouds. Still, I'll take along my rain gear when I go for my walk. Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Looking forward to the story. I like that you let the h & h run with their story from beginning to end.

    1. Hi, Roz, What is always surprising to me is when characters you didn't think about as having their own story step forward and want your attention. But maybe it's the unconscious working all along, plotting one story while we are consciously working on another.

  5. Thanks, Pamela. Seeing a story through from idea to published book can be a daunting task. Thank goodness for those who help along the way--such as editors and cover artists. What would we do with them?

  6. I had so many crushes growing up but non ever developed into anything. I enjoy creating true love stories and many times include one of those fellows I had a crush on as my hero.

    1. Hi, Marion. I wonder of having a crush is something everyone experiences. Couldn't find any data or opinion on this in my research. But, hey, giving these guys a life in your stories--what a great idea!

  11. I met my true love through a mutual friend. We'd both heard of each other for years through that mutual friend but had never met. Well, one day we finally did and we married a year later.

Her Summer Crush sounds amazing. I look forward to seeing it on WalMart shelves in the near future. ( :

    1. Hi, Patricia. I agree. It was hard to say good-bye to. These two. I'll have to let them pop into another story about Willow Beach.

  14. I like stories where the couple already knows each other and/or has a friendship - or even a dislike. That history dropped in throughout the story gets to me every time. This looks like a fun one, especially since we've already been introduced to the characters. Thanks, Linda!

    1. Hi, Carol. I haven't tried the "dislike" angle yet. Now, you've got me thinking! Thanks for stopping by.

  15. Congratulations, Linda! I'm with Carol in that I love stories where the H and H know each other already - high school crushes that fell apart, or marriages that didn't go as dreamed. Astoria is 'under the dome' of fog and rain, too, so your beautiful cover and the promise of a great story turn it all around into a positive. Cookies and tea and a good book! Yes!

  16. Hi, Muriel. Thanks for your comments. And yes, the rain keeps coming. But, as we tend to say around here, better than snow. Since Willow Beach is on the Washington Coast, the cover is a good reminder that the sun really does shine when summer rolls around.

  17. Congratulations, Linda! I concur with everyone that your cover is just wonderful. I like all kinds of romance "meets". The strangers and the ones where the H and H know each other or have a very rocky past. Those are my favorite. As evidenced by a couple of my stories. Good Luck and I can't wait to read it!!
