Lemon Dress Update

Hello everyone!

Today I decided to do an update on my June post, A Vintage Dress for RWA Nationals...Maybe.  It's always a nail biter when you have to size a pattern up a good six inches. The original pattern was for a size 30 chest, which I believe was my size when I was in the sixth grade. Anyway, the Lemon Dress turned out just fine.

I decided to go full lemon with it when I found these earrings that totally matched the lemons and flowers on my dress. I thought it might be kind of over the top, then reminded myself that I was wearing a vintage Lemon Dress. Of course, I had to go full lemon!

I saved it to wear to the Literacy Signing, however, there was a small glitch and my books didn't show up. Just my name.

Therefore, I didn't get to sit with my usual table mate and fellow Heartwarming author, Cari Lynn Webb, but here we are last year, plotting how to get a popcorn machine set up next to us. Next year, Cari Lynn. Next year.

  1. Love the dress. I'm sorry about the signing--and the popcorn--but hope it was a good time anyway.

  7. Love the dress and earrings. Thanks for catching us up on how all of that went. That's really a shame your books didn't show up. I'm always amazed how much is involved in being an author. LOL Who knew you had to write the book and also bring it to the signing yourself? ha

  9. That is a fabulous dress! I love your lemony shoes as well! I'm sorry your books weren't there. That happened to me once and it was not fun. But I hope the lemon dress was fully appreciated by others even though you weren't signing books.

  10. The whole outfit is smashing. So sorry your books didn't make it. So many at literacy signing I didn't even make it to the "W" row before they said, sorry folks, the signing is over. It was good seeing you and your daughter at the award ceremony.

  14. Excellent dress. I recently came across the Great British Sewing Bee, and it gave a great appreciation for sewing beyond what I did in high school. And can I get in on the popcorn machine? Maybe if we all band together...
