October Means...HOLIDAYS! by Anna J Stewart

Frequent readers of this blog, and pretty much anyone who knows me knows that I love the holidays. I mean LOVE! The decorations, the music, the entire feel of the season just lightens my heart. And for me, the season begins in October, not with Halloween. Far, far earlier. October is when the latest releases from Christmas Town hit e-readers!

Christmas Town, Maine, holds a very special place in my heart. First featured in 2014's CHRISTMAS, ACTUALLY, this three novella collection was my very first sale to Harlequin. I will be eternally grateful to Melinda Curtis and Anna Adams for inviting me to create this wonderful little (yet growing) town with them. Especially since we're releasing our fifth round of stories next week!

This year my story, HIS CHRISTMAS CAROUSEL BABY, (one of the 12 Days of Heartwarming Christmas collection) revolves around Wally MacIver, who is about to find out he's going to be a father! The mother, Grayling Stanhope, just happens to be the love of his life who also is responsible for destroying his dreams of a career in the music business. Ah, love. Complicated, wonderful love. This is going to be one memorable holiday season for the two of them. As it will be for the other 11 books in the collection from some of your favorite Heartwarming authors.

It's also going to be a memorable Christmas for me. For the first time in decades we have kittens in the house. After losing our beloved Snickers earlier this year, we finally surrendered to the need for furry creatures in the house and rescued two kittens from a local shelter. Meet Sherlock (the black one) and Rosie! I probably should have waited until I wasn't on deadline (kittens and writing do NOT mix), but the heart wants what the heart wants. Stay tuned for future blogs that I'm sure will feature these two. They are always getting into trou...er, I mean messes, LOL. This year, I'm pretty sure we'll be skipping the tree <G>.

Now you know what I'll be doing this holiday season. How about you? Any fun plans? Sticking close to home? Traditions you're looking forward to? Please share it he comments!

  1. Congratulations, Anna, on your book and your recent furry additions to the family! Thanksgiving in Canada comes this weekend, so my daughter has deliberately taken the day off work so she can join us in our tradition of going to my sister-in-law's sister's place for a big potluck turkey-with-trimmings dinner followed by a hay ride. My favorite part is when everyone goes around the room and says what they're thankful for.

  2. Once I've met my deadline, I'm going to reward myself by reading all twelve of the Christmas Town stories. It's been so much fun working with this group. Can't wait to find out about Wally's story.

  5. Anna, love to see all of your decorations when you post photos. I try to decorate some for every major holiday. At least hang something on the front door and have a table decoration. Don't go all out for Christmas any more. It's too hard to get everything down out of boxes in the garage. But I decorate for me because I like to see different things. Looking forward to another round of Christmas Town stories.

  7. What sweet kittens, Anna! I can see why you couldn’t wait. Our Thanksgiving holiday is this weekend in Canada as M.K. Pointed out, so I’m already at the cottage, cosy in front of the wood stove because it’s a tad damp and chilly today. Getting together with family is always the best part of any holiday, right? Congrats on the Christmas Town release!
