Where in the World is Carmen...no, Cynthia Thomason?

I'm so sorry. Really I'm sorry. I haven't posted a blog in six months, nor have I responded to other blogs. I've missed the opportunity to connect with all of you. But I can explain. The last six months I have been living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which many of you know I love. However, the Wifi was iffy. Sometimes I couldn't connect for days. And my laptop crashed in an area where no techies were around to fix it. Ask my editor...she knows how I struggled writing and recovering my last WIP.

But now I'm home in busy, bustling South Florida, and everything I plug in seems to be working. For how long? you ask. Hmmm. That depends on my latest venture to start over. In January, after living in S. Fl for forty years I am moving all the way to central Florida. Not such a big deal? It is to me. I am a widow, and I live with my adorable pup, Willie. We are going to a 55+ community in Ocala, a completely new experience and a much smaller town than I'm used to. I meet the requirements of being 55+...Willie, not so much.

So I'm asking all of you today...when was the last time you "started over?" What did you experience? Was it good or bad? And how about a move from city to country? Ocala isn't exactly rural, but it's much more rural than where I live now. And it's horse country with beautiful rolling hills and green, green grass.

Still, I need words of encouragement and advice, and where else to look but within the souls of you beautiful people.

Hope you'll try my latest book, High Country Christmas, in time for Christmas. Order now for a Heartwarming read for the holidays.

Happy Fall to Winter, my friends. It's a great time of year.
Cynthia

My sweetie pie, Willie.

  2. Adjustments simply take time, Cynthia, but I have a feeling fitting into that very pretty-looking town of Ocala will not take long. The only recent ‘move’ I’ve had was moving back into our newly-renovated home a few years ago. :) But it was an adjustment too..a wonderful one! Enjoy exploring your new home and welcome back to the blog!

  3. I love new adventures! When I left everything behind at the age of 20 to move from Texas to Arizona, I was scared to death. But it was the best thing I ever did. My hubby....not so adventurous. He hates the idea of starting over somewhere new. Kudos to you for being so brave. And Willie is adorable!

  4. Ocala looks like a lovely place--and I identify with your sense of adventure. As one who used start over in new places a lot, I highly recommend it. I moved from big cities to tiny towns and in between and really consider that one of the privileges of my life. You have such a wonderful companion in Willie. All the best with settling in!

  6. There's something so rejuvenating about starting over in a new place, and you have Willie along as you begin this new chapter in your life. My guess is, you'll have no trouble making new friends with such an adorable companion by your side (or in your arms!) Happy trails to both of you!

  7. Ocala looks lovely. I think you'll have fun there. One nice thing about those sorts of communities is that there are lots of people starting over and looking for new friendships. With a cutie like Willie by your side, you can't miss. Can't wait to read the story. The little boy looks like an old-fashioned Christmas card.

  8. Last I started completely over was after dh passed away. I stayed put for a year, but house too big and lot too much to care for. I had a 3 day garage sale (not enough) as I still have too much sentimental stuff. But I bought a condo. It's not in a retirement community and I wish it was. Right now I'm sporadic on the blog as I'm taking care of my older sister who lives a mile away from me. She hurt her back the day before Thanksgiving. You and your doggie will enjoy your move I'm sure.

  9. Sometimes your Android starts behaving weird with the Internet. That dreaded “Connected but no Internet Access” message is just vague. Many reasons can lead up to this issue. Here are some of the things you can try to fix the problem.
