Eye Candy...uh, I mean Hero Inspiration by Jennifer Snow & Karen Rock

Hi Everyone!

Karen Rock and I shared a book birthday last week as FALLING FOR LEIGH and SOMEONE LIKE YOU released Sept 1, and well, if you happened to catch Karen and I fighting with our Animal Fighter Pens at the Harlequin book signing at RWA this year, then you know we can get pretty competitive lol;)

So, we thought we would put our heroes to the test this week in a hero mash up! Good luck choosing between these two adorable men...even though Karen did cheat. I mean, Channing Tatum-not fair:)

Bring on the eye candy...Inspiration, I meant inspiration...

Hero # 1-

Name: Niall Walsh

Age: 28

Occupation: Afghanistan Veteran and Start-Up Company/Technology Entrepreneur

Height: 6 foot 2

Build: Muscular. 185 lbs.

Hair: Dark Brown

Eyes: Hazel-Green

Special Talents/Information:
Does a great impression of "Beast" when reading "Beauty and the Beast" to kids.
Is a 3x black belt in Tae Kwan Do .
Wears a prosthetic as he lost his left calf in Afghanistan.
Can write software code to design apps.
Was a Signal Combat officer with the Army in Afghanistan.
Has a dark secret he must keep from Kayleigh because it's classified.

And as if he wasn't dreamy enough, check out a quote from Niall in SOMEONE LIKE YOU:

"I see you when I close my eyes," he murmured, touching his forehead to hers. "I can't stop thinking about you, wondering where you are and what you're doing. Things in my past made me closed off. You were right about that. But I'm not anymore. My heart is open, and it belongs to you."

      ****Swoon****

Hero # 2

Name: Logan Walters

Height: 6'2

Weight: 190

Hair Color: Dark Brown

Eye Color: Brown

Special Talents/Information:
A New York Times Bestselling Mystery Author
Is a wonderful father for his daughter, who he is fighting for custody of.
Can sometimes come across a grouchy, but it's only the writer's block.
Would do anything to be with Leigh, but she has a secret standing in the way of a possible future together.

Hot, right? :)

And here is one of my favorite quotes from Logan:
"When I got here, I couldn't wait to finish this book and get on with my life...then you and that ladder changed everything. Now this court case just got even more important to win so I can keep Amelia (his daughter) and make a home with her here."

So, we would love to hear your thoughts on our heroes. And make sure to check out Karen's Sunday post later this month for our Heroines going head to head.

One lucky commenter will win a copy of SOMEONE LIKE YOU and FALLING FOR LEIGH-either print or e-copy-winner's choice!

***Disclaimer-the real Harry Connick JR. and Channing Tatum are not included in the giveaway. Trust us, if we had these guys, we would not be giving them away lol:)

  1. Nice choices ladies! But no Tom Hardy, Jennifer? The hero in my work in progress is inspired by Chis Helmsworth. Tall, blonde, a little bit of scruffy beard on his face. Think Thor minus the cape and hammer...lol

    2. Funny you should mention Tom, lol he's the inspiration for Noah in book five of the series:) and I agree with Karen, great choice!

  2. Okay, I think it's time a little old lady who's been through a lot can have both Channing and Harry. I mean, why not? I'd just sit them on the futon in my office and interrogate them for insights into the male psyche and good guy dialogue, anyway. Loved both quotes. Would never be able to choose between them. Good going, Ladies.

  3. Karen and Jennifer,
This is so not fair! I fell in love with Harry a gazillion years ago in Hope Floats and he still has the best lines from that movie. But I can so see Channing Tatum and I'm swooning over his dialogue. Great going there!

    1. Hope Floats is still one of my favorite movies! When I was writing Logan, I didn't have a visual at first but everytime I wrote his dialogue, he sounded familiar. Finally I realized I was hearing Harry in my head.

    2. Thanks, Catherine! How much would I love to see Channing actually say those lines... *swoon!

  4. I'm definitely a Harry kind of guy. I'm with Catherine, Hope Floats, was awesome. But, I also saw him on Jimmy Fallon and his comments about being a father were awesome. Hero comments.
Right now, the hero of my book is patterned after John Corbett.

    1. Love John Corbett!! In everything! I just watched the show United States of Tara and he plays the husband to a woman with multiple personality disorder and he was fantastic:)

  5. Oh, yeah, Harry...and I love John Corbett--a lot...and any guy who looks good in glasses and with a kid on his hip...

    1. Agreed! In my story, Leigh thinks Logan doesn't like kids until she realizes the real reason he has trouble being around her daycare kids:)

  6. I'm like Muriel... I want them both...not sure I'd just sit them on my sofa, though. Great post ladies. In Matthew's Choice, my hero looked like a 30-something Luke Wilson.

    2. Thanks, Meradeth! Jen and I were definitely inspired by these amazing men :) They're both gorgeous family men- what could be better?!

  12. I loved that quote from Niall....so tender, but I like Logan's profession and situation. Too hard to choose. They're both awesome!! As for Channing Tatum, need I say anything??!! But....I saw Harry Connick on television a few years back doing an interview with Oprah (I believe it was Oprah), where he revealed that he takes his daughter's to get their nails done, etc. I thought that was the sweetest thing and I've adored him ever since.

    1. Laurie, I LOVE that! And I could definitely see Logan doing that for his daughter:)

      Delete
    2. Aw! Thanks, Laurie. Niall's quote comes from one of the most tender moments in the book. I love a man when he really opens up and gets vulnerable like that!

  14. I'm torn, but leaning more towards Niall. Especially with the fact that he does a great Beat voice. Beauty and the Beast was my favorite growing up.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That is one of my favorite traits for Niall, too, Lynsay... he adores his little sister Ella and she always asks him read her favorite book to her because, as she says, he does Beast the best :)

  15. Oh, it's so hard to choose. Could we not borrow them both in turn? Like with a library card? Great quotes, you guys.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ha!! A library card for men has to be the next big thing invented-come on someone! Anyone!?Though, I think a lot of women would decide to remain single lol:)

      Delete
    2. Thank you, Leigh! And I agree, life would have been a whole lot simpler during my single years if I could have borrowed a guy then gave him back- no worries- his time had expired- lol

  17. That's such a tough choice! I've loved Harry forever and Channing is a doll. I'm going with Channing, since I just read that book last week and he's exactly who I pictured while reading it. Imagine my surprise when I saw that he was Karen's inspiration!
