It's All Fun and Games by Amy Vastine and Carol Ross

AMY:
Hello! Amy and Carol here.

CAROL:
Who wants to have a little fun? Muriel, I’m looking at you. I know you like fun and games…

AMY:
We’ve got a little challenge for you. What could a story set in a small town in Alaska and another set in the Windy City have in common?

CAROL:
It’s wouldn’t be an attacking moose, would it?

AMY:
No, there are no moose in The Hardest Fight. Although … I did have a moose make a brief appearance in the epilogue of The Best Laid Plans (Book 2 in the Chicago Sisters Series)

CAROL:
Those moose. Never know when they’re going to show up!  But this is not about a moose. This is about a couple of hunky Chicago attorneys.

AMY:
What’s a Chicago lawyer doing in Alaska? I’m teasing, I’ve read A Case for Forgiveness. I know exactly what your handsome lawyer is doing there. My lawyer is cuter than your lawyer, though.

CAROL:
Oh really? Well, I think we should ask the readers which charming and handsome lawyer they’d like handling their briefs.

AMY:
Their legal briefs, that is (this is Heartwarming after all!) I’ll take that challenge and may the best lawyer win!

BACHELOR/LEGAL EAGLE #1

Name: Dylan Hunt

Physical description: blond hair, blue eyes, broad shoulders, and dimples to die for

Hobbies: Home improvement

Talents: Reading people (think The Mentalist)

Weaknesses: His mixed up priorities, his belief that he has to prove himself to his mother, his refusal to fight for what he wants

Best Friends: His neighbor Eugene and Eugene’s eight-year-old grandson Jeremy

Guilty pleasure: Driving fast cars

What drives him: To earn his mother’s respect so he can practice a more fulfilling type of law

BACHELOR/LAWYER #2

Name: Jonah Cedar

Physical description: black hair, dark blue eyes, tall with a lean-muscled build

Hobbies: Expensive cars, boats, running

Mentor: His grandfather Caleb who he has come home to help while he deals with a rather mysterious illness.

Strengths: Intelligence, loyalty, sense of humor

Weaknesses: Single-mindedness, confidence that sometimes borders on conceit

What drives him: To prove to himself that he can acquire the level of success his late father always wanted him to achieve.

AMY:
Oh man. That's how you picture Jonah? *fans self* Good choice, my friend.

CAROL:
I'm hoping your Dylan can't read my mind right now. Look at those eyes!

AMY:
Let's take a peek into their minds ...

In The Hardest Fight, Dylan Hunt is a high-powered attorney for Stevens and Ellis in Chicago. He comes from a long line of lawyers and has spent his life trying to prove he’s worthy of his position at his mother’s firm. Handling a simple real estate contract for one of the firm’s most important clients is the key to showing his mother and everyone else at Stevens and Ellis that he has earned (not simply inherited) everything he’s been given. What he wasn’t expecting when he took the case was having to go head to head with Lucy Everhart, the woman who loved him and left him five years ago. He can read everyone like a book, except for Lucy. The woman is headstrong, idealistic, and making a difference in the community. She’s everything he wanted to be before she broke his heart.

In A Case for Forgiveness, Jonah Cedar reluctantly leaves his important, demanding, and lucrative law career in Chicago to return to his hometown of Rankins, Alaska to temporarily reside with his grandfather Caleb.  Caleb is battling a rather mysterious illness and in addition to caring for his grandfather, Jonah is also tasked with keeping Caleb’s small-town law practice afloat. Jonah doesn’t like to come home--mostly because his ex-fiancé and the love of his life Shay James still lives there. In  addition to a deep and enduring love, these two have a history rife with mistakes, missteps, and miscommunication. Unfortunately, he’s never gotten over her and soon Jonah discovers that Shay needs his help, too.

AMY:
Sounds like we’ve got two attorneys who seemingly have it all (or at least a whole lot of the good stuff) but do they have what really matters?

CAROL:
Neither of them really knows for certain, but one thing is clear--these two legal hotties need to turn those brilliant, analytical minds on themselves and figure out exactly what will make them happy.

AMY:
But can they set aside their dedication to the law long enough to forgive the past and finally open their hearts to the women they love?

CAROL:
Readers will have to read to find out ...

A Case for Forgiveness - Out now!

The past has its place…in the past!

Innkeeper Shay James has been telling herself for a decade that she's over her ex-fiancé, Jonah Cedar. But now the Chicago attorney's come home to care for his ailing grandfather, reawakening powerful feelings—along with painful memories. Shay can't afford to repeat history.
At twenty-two, Jonah couldn't wait to trade his secluded Alaska hometown for big-city success. Shay was supposed to share that dream. Yet even with unresolved issues between them, their connection is stronger than ever. Jonah's visit was only going to be temporary…until a threat to Shay's beloved Faraway Inn gives him a reason to stay and fight for that second chance.

HARLEQUIN      AMAZON        BARNES & NOBLE

The Hardest Fight - Available July 1st!

There's no backing down this time

Lucy Everhart expected her opposing counsel to be a slick, soulless corporate lawyer. Who else would represent developers intent on turning Chicago's Safe Haven women's shelter into condos? But she never imagined it would be Dylan Hunt. Clearly, he's no longer the idealistic young man she fell for in law school. This is Dylan 2.0. The man who let her go without a fight five years ago—along with his passion for social justice, apparently. He may have compromised what he believed in, but Lucy hasn't. Dylan has no idea what kind of fight he's in for. But then again, neither does she.

So, which bar exam-passing hero gets no objection from you? We totally will accept both as answer ;)

  1. Hi, Guys! If the game is to choose one of the heroes, I couldn't possibly. They're both gorgeous, both motivated and with back stories that get my support. Love the sound of both tales.

    1. Both is always a good option. I have read Jonah's story and you can't go wrong with Alaska though! :)

  3. Neither gets an objection from me. I read all about Jonah Cedar and he turned out to be quite the hero. I have to read The Hardest Fight and learn more about Dylan Hunt.
The Best Laid Plans is first though, right Amy? I have got to get that one!!

    1. Thanks, Christy! I love Matt Bomer, too. When Carol sent me the pic for the post, I knew poor Dylan was in trouble ;)

  6. Wow. You don't make picking a hottie easy! I'm going to take the easy way out and say both rank up there on the handsome meter. Congrats Carol and Amy on your new releases!

    1. Wise choice, Tara! I don't blame you. I'm not sure I could decide myself. And thank you!

  7. Can’t tell which lawyer I’d choose until I read the books, however, you’ve definitely sparked my interest. Looking forward to reading both books so I can make a decision. Right now I lean a little toward Dylan for looks only.

    1. Perfectly understandable, Marion. I like to judge by personality, too. It's amazing how that can change how attractive a person is to me.

  8. Well, you ladies do them proud since lawyers tend to get a bad rap. Let's get their stories out there so people see they're good guys. And it doesn't hurt that they look yummy, too. The settings for each has an appeal.

    1. They do get a bad rap sometimes, Roz! We're hoping both of these guys will change some opinions--at least in the fictional regard. Yeah, I'm not sure I've ever met an attorney quite as good looking as either of these two in real life....

  9. I'll take both! I love lawyer books...almost said jokes. :-) These two sound really great and can't wait to read them.

    1. That's funny, Patricia! In A Case for Forgiveness, Caleb the grandfather has a best friend named Doc who loves attorney jokes. I spent an embarrassing amount of time researching jokes Doc could tell...

  10. Talk about an impossible choice!!

    1. I agree, Rula! It is impossible. I'm with Marion--I need to get a sense of who they are before I can really choose. I can't wait to read about Dylan so I can get a sense of his personality to compare. Then I'll choose--maybe..... Probably not(:

    1. I have plenty of moose photos I could have added, Pamela. A moose named Clara makes quite an "impression" in A Case for Forgiveness. I don't want to give anything away, but she might make you laugh in the book, too.

  14. Wow! Who could object to either! I loved Jonah in A Case for Forgiveness and am looking forward to meeting Dylan in The Hardest Fight - (and so happy for Lucy too!). Entertaining post, ladies!

  15. So there I am, late to the party. Just reading for fun because Carol and Amy are awesome. then, out of nowhere, somebody hits me with a Chris Evans in a SUIT. I'm reeling but on my feet. Then...Matt Bomer. The guy should come with a warning sound. Because...total knock out. TKO. I'm in. I want both books and I want them now.
