One week from today is release day! Book Two in The Historic Arapahoe Series. You can click on the image to pre-order!
Marie Bustamonte does not trust or love easily. Growing up with a philandering father and an overprotective mother, she comes by her reservations honestly. So after only three months, how can she be falling for her best friend's bodyguard? This isn't like her at all. But Elliott Tanner is strong, gorgeous and...trustworthy. At least he seems to be. Of course, some things about him remain a mystery. Protecting the privacy of his clients is Elliott's job. That doesn't mean he's hiding anything from her. Does it?
I'm really excited to be bringing you this story. I think, in today's world, many of us struggle with trust issues. I also believe that happiness depends on our ability to trust. And that trust is still rewarded.
I come by this belief honestly, and from example. My entire life I have watched a friendship between my mother and her best friend. It's a friendship that has spanned more than 63 years, husbands who were ornery and cantankerous, distances a country wide, the death of a child, and most recently personal tragedy. I know two things. Loyalty exists. And love is forever.
Once Upon a Marriage is the second in a series revolving around lifetime friendship. The first book, Once Upon A Friendship was out in July. If you missed it, comment here today to be entered to win an eBook copy. And please note, because I am serving friendship this next week, the winning copy will be sent after October 6th!
Happy reading everyone!

Hi, Tara! Once Upon a Marriage looks great and the cover is absolutely gorgeous! Happy Book Birthday in advance :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen! It's such a retro cover, I love it. But then I have a glitzy denim purse and wear tie dyed dresses! I hope the readers feel like it's s new modern story worth their time!
DeleteFriendship and trust make life memorable. Look forward to reading your second book in Heartwarming.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marion!! Friendship is everything! I have thought of you and your friend often since conference. I hope your travels were wonderful. You guys have a gift!
DeleteLove the premise!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Of course, he IS hiding something from her. And, of course, it's major...
DeleteTrust is very hard in today's society, and it's always refreshing to read a story on trust with a HEA! Once Upon a Marriage sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeletePatricia,
DeleteIt's incredibly hard. But this week, I've seen someone face lashing and adversity and remain true to self and to others and my faith in love and loyalty is strong.
Happy Early Release Day, Tara! I love the premise. My best friend and I have been friends for 42 years. When we get together, it's as though we're still teenagers. :)
ReplyDeleteJill,
DeleteTake pictures. I have a slew of them of my mom and her friend at all different ages, the two of them posing together. They are a comfort and a joy.
Thanks, Tara. We still have notes, that we passed back in forth, while in high school. They are so fun to read.
DeleteI was lucky to grow up in a small town where those of us who started school together went all through high school, too. Most of that group try to stay in touch and it's nice to pick up the phone and talk like no time has gone by, when a lot of years have passed. I like your cover. Looking forward to the book.
ReplyDeleteRoz,
DeleteYou are very lucky to have that. I am only vaguely in touch with one person I knew in high school.
HI, TARA!
ReplyDeleteMy book arrived the other day and is next in line. Happy Book Birthday. I can't wait to read this one. Love your stories!
Happy Book Birthday to you, too!
DeleteYou're so right!! Trust is the key to any enduring relationship. I've had a best friend for nearly 40 years myself. Thanks for introducing us to Once Upon A Marriage. It sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLaurie,
DeleteI am envious. My best friend, from the time we were kindergarten age, was killed in a car accident at 39. That was my one chance to have a lifelong friend. But she's still with me, every day. There are two pictures of us on each side of my monitor. I look at them every day all day.
I love retro, so I love the cover. Happy Book Birthday! I have a niece whom I played dolls with as a child. (I was the 14th child in a big family, and her mother was #2, hence Jenny and I were just 6 months apart. She's in Massachusetts and I'm in Oregon but we're as tight as we've ever been. I think trust is what keeps us young. It's so easy to mistrust people, but often very rewarding to just put out your hand.
ReplyDeleteMuriel, You are so right. When we get bitter, we get old. Not wise. Just old.
DeleteHi Tara I am looking forward to reading Once Upon A Friendship. Once Upon A Friendship and Once Upon a Marriage both sounds wonderful. Please enter me in contest. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteEmma,
DeleteYou are welcome!!
Hi Tara, your sentiment about loyalty and love is so pleasant and perfectly stated. Congrats on the new book! I can't wait to read Elliott and Marie's story. And I agree with everyone else - the cover is stunning! :-)
ReplyDeleteKrissie,
DeleteThank you! I love the cover, too. And it sounds like it's going to do just fine!
Happy upcoming release day! Trust and friendship, what's not to love. I like the cover, the couple look like they belong together.
