It's a boat! It's a plane! It's Pam's new book!

Howdy everyone,  Pamela Tracy here.

I remember the first book I sold, how I felt when I saw the cover for the first time, and then a few months later when I held it in my hands.

There's nothing like that very first sale.

But, the great thing about writing books is… it's exciting every time you see one come to fruition.

There's a bittersweet feel to The Missing Twin.  It's the final Scorpion Ridge novel.  I've enjoyed writing each and every one of them and now am looking forward to coming up with my next endeaver.

The secret between them
Angela Taylor knew her sister was in trouble. For anyone but a twin, her instincts would seem crazy, and her actions crazier. Picking up and moving herself and her daughter, Celia, to Scorpion Ridge and asking questions put them all at risk. Even more risky was trusting Jake Farraday, the handsome ex-cop turned forest ranger. Years in witness protection had taught Angela to trust no one. Yet with Abigail missing, Jake was her only hope, and she found herself wanting to share more of her past with him. And more of her future. But did Jake have his own motives for helping Angela?

One of the absolutely best things about being an Heartwarming author is never being alone.  It's a sisterhood.  I've been a published author since 1999 (Yes, I was 12) and I'm amazed by the comaraderie in this group.  I feel like I've got ice skates on and I'm being whipped around the ice by a strand of friends who lead, follow, and laugh.

Speaking of what we do together… The January Heartwarming authors have yet another promotion.  Read on.

In Thursday’s post, Amie Denman mentioned another giveaway we have planned to celebrate our January releases being available as mass-market paperbacks through Amazon. In just a few days, this month's Heartwarming authors will launch our own #AmazonGiveaway where we'll each award five copies of our books. Your chances of winning will be 1:500. Those are much better odds than winning the Powerball! Watch for the announcement of the start of the giveaway!

And just to add a bit of humor.  Here's one of my favorite photos finds thanks to Facebook.

And, the cat, well Tyre is mine and he says that I should notice that nowhere on the blanket does it offer space to puppies.

So, Tyre says we can just keep crating the new puppy forever.

Hmmm, I'm thinking a new blanket will be in order.  I wonder where we'll put the German Shepherd/Husky mix that is now terrorizing Tyre's peace and quiet.

  1. Hi Pamela!
You have a German Shepherd/Husky mix? That's a wonderful but high energy combination. We had one when I was a kid. She lived to be almost 15! I hope your cat learns to love the puppy--and share the bed?

    1. High energy? LOL.
That's what everyone says when they meet my ten year old
That's it. I'm packing and moving in with you

  2. Pamela, I bet you know exactly what I was thinking when I first saw the picture of the bed divided up. With three dogs previously (Malamute, Shepherd and yellow Lab) and two black Labs now, if they were allowed up on the bed, my husband and I would probably have to make due with the narrow black section of the bed assigned to the husband in your picture! Fortunately our pups are happy on their own beds.

    Congratulations for your release, Pamela!

    1. So far, Lucy's happy in her crate. I'm not sure what we'll do when she's housebroken. I thought I'd let her choose, but she's going to be a big dog. Not sure the cat and I have enough room to share, and hubby is not willing to budge.

  3. Congratulations on your new release, Pam, and good luck on whatever series you choose to write next. Best of luck, too, with your cat and dog issue. When I got my dog, Monty, years ago, the cat took exception to his presence, packed up, and moved next door to the neighbor's house.

    1. Oh, my cat is Tyre, and he's not moving. He's the most awesome cat. They will just have to become friends. No choice.

  4. Pam,
My Heartwarming books just arrived on Thursday. So looking forward to the last in your series. Unfortunately I think Rita books will arrive soon and yesterday I received the final read on book 2 of my American trilogy. It never rains but it...well you know the cliché. I always felt lucky that our cats and dog got along really well. But it's true cats are territorial and Tyre was there first. I know you'll get it sorted out soon.

    1. LOL, even as big as the puppy is, my money - in a fight - would be on Tyre. Yes, Rita books will be here soon. I've also got revisions due Feb 9th and a new proposal to put together.

  5. That bedspread KILLS me! It's so true, LOL. I'm sure it's bittersweet to end a series (not looking forward to that myself when the time comes) but yay on a new venture! Congrats on the new release. :)

  6. Congratulations on your release, Pam. I agree with you, the camaraderie among the Heartwarming authors is impressive. It's what makes it such a joy to visit this blog each day.

  7. Hurrah for The Missing Twin! Sounds great. But poor Tyre. I feel for him. However, in my experience, the cat always wins. One swipe of a claw on a tender nose--which happened with my male cat and my new Beagle once--and Tyre won't be bothered again. It's a hard lesson. Love the bedspread!

    1. Leigh, the puppy is a bit slow. She's gotten nose swiped at least 5 times and keeps coming back for more. Arg.

  8. That picture of the bed is hilarious!! It's similar to what one would look like in my house, except DOG and her would switch places! So excited for your new book. Can't wait to start seeing it on Walmart shelves next month :)

    1. I went to a Walmart in Flag today, but there were none there and I didn't check to see if there even was a Flagstaff store on the list. But, still, I looked.

  9. Looking forward to seeing your new release in WalMart next month!! I have so much catching up to do with my Heartwarming books, but when I'm reading them I simply can't rush through them, I like to savor each page. (I'm reading Jennifer Snow's What A Girl Wants, presently). The Heartwarming group of authors are an awesome bunch, and I can only imagine how happy you must feel to be a part of them. Congratulations on the upcoming release.

  10. Congratulations, Pam! I'm sure you'll think of something new and brilliant to launch another series. I, too, love the bedspread. The dog and cat will get along fine - we've had wild mixtures of all sorts and given time, they always work it out. Heartwarming women are the coolest!

  12. Hi, Pam! Chiming in late, but congratulations on the last Scorpion Ridge novel. I'll be sad to see it go, too, but will look forward to whatever is coming next from you! Not only will you need a new bedspread - you'll need a bigger bed! It's amazing how much space our fur babies can take up!
