Recipes for a Date Night In {by Laurie Tomlinson}

Just because Valentine's (or Galentine's!) Day is over doesn't mean the fancy has to end. Whether you're cooking for a loved one, some girlfriends, or solo with a good book, make a date to stay in with something a little more luxurious than normal on your table. This way you can save money, stay in your pajamas where it's warm and cozy if you want to, and get the satisfaction of serving and eating something you made with your own two hands.

Love these ideas from some of my favorite food bloggers:

Did you have fun Valentine's Day plans or stay in like we did? For your fancy date night in, are you more of a steak or seafood or pasta kind of gal? (Or are you just in it for the dessert? We don't judge!)

  1. Laurie, that all sounds great! We did beef filets with Portobello sauce and lemon meringue pie :)

  2. Mmm, this all looks so good! I confess, we'd done a Mardi Gras potluck the day before, so on Valentine's we had leftover Creole Chicken and Red Beans and Rice, along with some wonderful sugar cookies from my neighbor.

  4. I was going to make a wonderfully long comment about how awesome your date night ideas are, but now I'm hungry, lol. I love this. My husband hates to go out, so we do most of our celebrating at home and I can't wait to check out your links!

  6. Love these recipes! My date and I went to lunch because around here the restaurants would have been full and noisy. Enjoyed our nice, quiet lunch and then had leftovers for dinner. lol

    1. Smart, Patricia! We rarely ever eat out on Valentine's night because we can't hear ourselves think.

  7. Since I cook most days of the week, our fancy date nights inside might involve something we pick up from the outside so I don’t have to cook that night. But at times I cook up something special and romantic for the two of us. Too bad I’m allergic to seafood....and not just shell fish, ALL fish. ) :
