Hello everyone!
Today I decided to do an update on my June post, A Vintage Dress for RWA Nationals...Maybe. It's always a nail biter when you have to size a pattern up a good six inches. The original pattern was for a size 30 chest, which I believe was my size when I was in the sixth grade. Anyway, the Lemon Dress turned out just fine.
I decided to go full lemon with it when I found these earrings that totally matched the lemons and flowers on my dress. I thought it might be kind of over the top, then reminded myself that I was wearing a vintage Lemon Dress. Of course, I had to go full lemon!
I saved it to wear to the Literacy Signing, however, there was a small glitch and my books didn't show up. Just my name.
Therefore, I didn't get to sit with my usual table mate and fellow Heartwarming author, Cari Lynn Webb, but here we are last year, plotting how to get a popcorn machine set up next to us. Next year, Cari Lynn. Next year.

Love the dress. I'm sorry about the signing--and the popcorn--but hope it was a good time anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good time, and I got to chat with Cari Lynn for a bit. :)
DeleteThe dress looks great! And I want in on that popcorn machine. Just sayin'
ReplyDeleteI tell you, we need to make a plan for next year!
DeleteGreat seeing you at Nationals. Love the lemon dress :)
ReplyDeleteGreat seeing you, too, Cathy! You spin a great prize wheel!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress! Almost makes me want to sew again...almost. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's fun, Patricia. ;)
DeleteLove that dress! And the lemon earrings and yellow shoes are perfect. You look fabulous! So sorry I didn't find you at the signing.
ReplyDeleteI had fun wearing it. I wish I could have seen you.
DeleteLove the dress and earrings. Thanks for catching us up on how all of that went. That's really a shame your books didn't show up. I'm always amazed how much is involved in being an author. LOL Who knew you had to write the book and also bring it to the signing yourself? ha
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy--They were supposed to be shipped and I never did find out what happened. However, I'm going to hand carry a few next year.
DeleteI love the dress it turn out beautiful!
ReplyDeletePenney
Thank you, Penney!
DeleteThat is a fabulous dress! I love your lemony shoes as well! I'm sorry your books weren't there. That happened to me once and it was not fun. But I hope the lemon dress was fully appreciated by others even though you weren't signing books.
ReplyDeleteHi Claire--I'm going to bring a few books with me next year. Maybe I'll have an avocado dress for that signing. :)
DeleteThe whole outfit is smashing. So sorry your books didn't make it. So many at literacy signing I didn't even make it to the "W" row before they said, sorry folks, the signing is over. It was good seeing you and your daughter at the award ceremony.
ReplyDeleteIt was great seeing you, too, Roz! That literacy signing was huge!
DeleteAwesome dress. I even scrolled back up to make sure you had on yellow shoes. Bummer about the books. I hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pamela. I got those shoes on sale just before conference. Score!
DeleteThe dress looks great. Too bad about the book signing.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress!!
ReplyDeleteJeannie - that find with the earrings made it no contest- The Dress was meant to be! You looked great from head to toe. So sorry about the books. Also sorry I didn't get to RWA this year to say hello to you and all the Heartwarming crew.
ReplyDeleteExcellent dress. I recently came across the Great British Sewing Bee, and it gave a great appreciation for sewing beyond what I did in high school. And can I get in on the popcorn machine? Maybe if we all band together...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the dress, Jeannie, and the matching shoes and earrings are so perfect! Truly amazing!
