Here's to spending less time thinking about what to cook and more time reading under a cozy blanket.
- I was just thinking that when fall (and apple season) rolls around, there's nothing tastier than an apple cider doughnut, and I hadn't had one yet. Then I saw this Apple Cider Doughnut Cake from The View from Great Island. Yum!
- Give me all the warm, creamy, comforting soups now that the temperatures have finally fallen! Small Town Woman's Sausage and Potato Soup with a cheddary broth is next on the menu!
- Pumpkin is the quintessential fall ingredient. Add it to snickerdoodles with white chocolate chips? I'm in heaven!
- To balance out the sweet and comforting, sometimes you need a good dinner salad. This Nutty Harvest Honeycrisp Kale Salad from How Sweet It Is has all of autumn's rockstar ingredients. It's all about balance, y'all!
- Have you ever heard of a brookie? It's the perfect mix of brownie + cookie. Every year, my neighborhood "Boos" each other with surprise doorstep treats, and these Spooky Brookies are my favorite Halloween baking project!
- So everyone knows the perfection of sweet pumpkin treats, but pumpkin in savory form is SERIOUSLY underrated! This Pumpkin Marscarpone Orecchiete from Table for Two is like mac and cheese elevated to the Nth degree of creamy, comforting fall deliciousness. It's necessary for my Italian foodie heart.
- Good things come in small packages, right? I couldn't decide whether to share these Mini Pumpkin Cheesecakes from Lemon Tree Dwelling or Noble Pig's Mini Apple Crumble Pies. How about both? Please and thank you.
- I could have shared a zillion soup recipes, but I know you have your favorites. Instead, I want to introduce you to soup's new favorite side: Bacon Cheddar Chive Biscuits. This season will never be the same.

Would love the creamy soup with the cheddar biscuits. Yum! Thanks for the ideas and the recipes. It's even fall here in southern Arizona. My house is 50 degrees this morning. But...they say we're going up into the mid-eighties by afternoon.
ReplyDeleteRoz, we are less than a week into "fall-ish" temperatures here in Oklahoma, but you'd better believe I have been making soup since it turned late September. :)
DeleteYum. We grew pumpkins, so I needed new main dish pumpkin recipes to try. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBeth, I wish I had your expertise! My son brought a pumpkin chute home in a Solo cup, and I have no idea what to do with it.
DeleteI'm impressed with your skills! It was interesting just to read through all the recipes. Good for you for developing such a useful avocation!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Virginia! It's fun for me :)
DeleteWonderful recipes!
ReplyDeleteI just went on a cooking spree this afternoon and have all kinds of goodness waiting in my fridge.
DeleteI just made vegetable beef and chicken soup this afternoon since the temps were in the mid 60s. Now for some cornbread!
