Reconnecting with Nature By Elizabeth Mowers

Isn't this waterfall beautiful? It's called Blue Hen Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. I have yet to visit, but it's on my bucket list.

This summer I started hiking with my family. As I am not very athletic, I've only been hitting the easy to medium level trails. I just want to get outside and get moving. The fresh air has done wonders for my soul!

Here are a few pictures of our latest hike at Seiberling Nature Realm which was named after the co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

Cherry trail = Easy trail
My kids enjoyed throwing rocks off this bridge at Seiberling Nature Realm.
A great spot to take a break and look for turtles.

Mama cardinal let me creep up to get a picture. She had a nest nearby.

As much as I have enjoyed hiking this summer, I'm really looking forward to hiking this fall. Is there anything better than the smell of autumn? Ah, there is so much to look forward to.

What do you do to unwind? What outdoor activities do you enjoy most?

  1. Hiking / walking are my favorites when my sciatic nerve cooperates. Love your pictures. The Seiberling Mansion in Kokomo is a big, beautiful place. He spread his entrepreneurship around! :-)

  2. Beatuiful! I love the photos. The mama cardinal is keeping an eye on you.

  3. Great photos. I love those kinds of walking trails. And the parks that grace our country, city, county, state, and national, are wonderful gifts. Thanks for sharing your family trip with us.

  4. I walk a lot, but rarely go outside. I walk in my house. I'm waiting for the day when the windows turn into outdoor views that you can change and it appears you're walking on trails that are far away. (I see this on TV all the time. I know it will happen sooner or later.)

    1. I've seen this in movies too. Although I've been waiting for my own hover board since I watched Back to the Future in the 80s, lol:-)
