Writers are an odd breed.
I've learned over the years that as a writer, I've got a different kind of brain. I'm just not happy unless I'm working on a story. In fact, I start feeling a little wound up and tense if I don't have a book on the go.
But I'm not alone in that! I've gotten to know other writers over the years, and they are just as odd as I am! In fact, it makes me feel better knowing that I'm not some unique little pile of nerves in the corner. There are other little piles of nerves just as unique as I am.
In my newest release, Melanie Isaacs is newly divorced and feeling the pressure to restart her life. But how is she going to do this? And who is she going to be when she isn't wife and stepmom anymore?
A group of new friends makes all the difference--The Second Chance Dining Club. These women have all gone through painful divorces, and Melanie is no longer the odd one out. There is just something about good friends, good food, and a mountain lodge that make new beginnings feel possible again...
And there is always room at the table for one more.
Do you have a special group of friends? And if so, what do you have in common? Do you enjoy the same hobby, attend the same church, go to the same school at some point? I'd love to hear about your friends! They sure do make life a lot sweeter, don't they?

With an old flame?
Fifteen years in an unhappy marriage showed Melanie Isaacs exactly what she didn’t want. Now she’s in Mountain Springs to figure out the rest of her life—even if it means facing her former sweetheart, Logan McTavish. The spark between Logan and Melanie is stronger than ever. But is it enough to heal two weary, damaged hearts…and show them the way to a new happiness?
Great post, Patty. I love the quote, "If you want to know where your heart is, look where your mind wanders." My family always knows when I've drifted off into plot construction land because I'm quiet but my lips are moving, lol. And I love second chance romances!
ReplyDeleteI call it staring at walls, but I think it amounts to the same thing! My brain is working through a story. :)
DeleteA GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
DeleteAm so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.

A great post. Like Elizabeth, I always love second chance. And I love my girlfriends, too. They tend to be in groups-writer, cyber, old, work, etc. but each one dear and valued.
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice to have groups of girlfriends! I have a couple of writer friends I get together with on a regular basis, and I just love it.
DeleteLove that quote! I remember responding to something my sister said with, "That's what Luke said about..." She naturally asked who Luke was and I reminded her he was the hero of my book Island Healing." She gave me a blank look and I realized she was confused. To her, this Luke guy wasn't real. What he said was what I told him to say, right? Hard to explain why that was simultaneously both true and not true.
ReplyDeleteWe spend so much more time with our characters than our readers do, so I get it! :)
DeleteLoved the story, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with the Second-chance Dining club. Keep that plotting brain busy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Beth! :) I'm glad you loved it!
DeleteLove the premise of a Second Chance Dining club! And your books sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patricia! :)
